Below you will find some information about our nursery staff, session times and uniform.
Mrs Heaton - nursery teacher
Miss Rushton - learning support assistant (all day Monday to Thursday, Friday morning)
Mrs Henderson - learning support assistant (Tuesday afternoon)
Mrs Croft - learning support assistant (Friday afternoon)
Morning nursery sessions run from 8.45am until 11.45am.
Afternoon nursery sessions run from 12.30pm until 3.30pm, although we open our doors for at 3.20pm as this is when the main school finishes.
Please try to ensure that you are punctual at the beginning and end of a session. Arriving late can be unsettling for your child and disrupts the session for others. Young children can often get upset if they feel that they have been left behind at the end of the session when everyone else has gone.
Uniform consists of a navy blue sweatshirt and a red polo shirt. These are available from Abbey Street Shopping Centre in Accrington, Whittakers in Blackburn or most supermarkets.
Children should wear trousers or skirts which they can manage easily by themselves when they go to the toilet. Joggers or leggings with an elasticated waist are ideal.
Shoes should be sturdy and suitable for running and climbing in outdoors. Lace up shoes should not be worn as undone laces become a hazard when children are running around. We also encourage children to be independent when changing their shoes for p.e. or dressing up so shoes with velcro fastenings are recommended.
Children need a pair of well fitting pumps in a drawstring p.e. bag with the child's name clearly written on the front of the bag and inside the pumps.
Children also need a pair of wellies with their name written inside. You may wish to provide your child with their own 'puddle suit' or overtrousers for outdoor play in wet weather or messy outdoor play.
Please send a complete set of spare clothes, including socks and underwear, to keep in nursery in case we have to change your child's clothes for any reason e.g. they are wet or have had something spilled on them. These should be in a clearly named drawstring bag.
We go outside in most weathers so please make sure your child has a suitable coat, hat and gloves in winter and a sun hat in summer.
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING, SHOES AND BAGS ARE CLEARLY NAMED AS WE CANNOT ALWAYS IDENTIFY LOST OR MUDDLED ITEMS IF THEY ARE NOT NAMED.
